ABOUT DR LINA TRIANA

I am a Medical Doctor and Surgeon from the Universidad del Valle, Cali, Colombia. In the world of medicine, I discovered that it wasn’t enough to just save patients’ lives; it was more important to work towards improving their quality of life. For this reason, I graduated as a Plastic, Reconstructive, Maxillofacial, and Hand Surgeon from the Universidad del Valle. Wanting to balance the body from the inside and the outside, I studied Age Management at the Cenegenics Medical Institute in Nevada, USA. I expanded my knowledge of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at the Interplastica Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Centers and Ivo Pitangüy in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and I also graduated from the Universidad de Bolívar, Barranquilla, Colombia as an Aesthetic Physician. I also completed the Health Management Program at EDIME-INALDE Business School, Universidad de la Sabana in Bogotá D.C.

As I grew in my medical practice, I discovered the importance of listening to my patients. By listening, I saw that there was an aspect of their lives that prevented them from feeling complete. Many of them were leaders in their work, in their families, but didn’t feel complete with their sexuality. This is when I became interested in vaginal plastic surgery, and I obtained a degree from the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute of America in Los Angeles, USA, beginning my work on how to achieve female empowerment through vaginal plastic surgery. I am now a world pioneer in this field among my plastic surgeon colleagues. Currently, I am the Medical Director of Clínica Corpus y Rostrum, Crece Hair Center, and the Organización Dra. Lina Triana, all in Cali.

In my quest to be a leader, I discovered that leadership begins with leading ourselves. From the mode of critical thinking, I realized that if true changes are to be achieved, one must move into action mode, take action, and this is why I started getting involved in different scientific and professional societies. I became the first female President of the Colombian Society of Plastic Surgery – SCCP, joining the Board in 2008 and assuming the Presidency from 2014 to 2016. Currently, SCCP has honored me with the title of Honorary Member.

Thinking about going beyond my specialty, in how to bring about real changes in the health sector, and showing how service leads our peers to choose us as their leader, I joined the Board of the Colombian Association of Scientific Societies – ACSC, in 2014, and was elected Vice President for the 2018-2020 term, later assuming the position of President for the 2020-2022 term, becoming the first female President of the ACSC.

Convinced of showing the world that plastic surgery is much more than just liposuction and breast augmentation, I sought opportunities to create a different future where natural beauty, the inner beauty of patients, is enhanced. Today, I am the President of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery – ISAPS, where I have been a member of its Board since 2009. I am also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons – ASPS, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery – ASAPS, and its international committee; a member of the Iberolatinoamerican Federation of Plastic Surgery – FILACP and its Aesthetic Committee; an Honorary Member of the Serbian Society of Plastic Surgery – SRBPRAS; and a corresponding member of the Colombian Medical College and part of its Advisory Council.
