Dr. Lina Triana Transforms Johan Sebastián’s Reality
“Johan Sebastián Ortega is 4 years old and has very prominent ears. His parents want him to undergo ear reduction surgery because they say the child has already started receiving teasing from his classmates and has even received comments from strangers on the street. His mother recounts that once, while walking with Johan, a woman remarked, “Those ears look like butterfly wings.”
Dr. Lina Triana learned about Johan Sebastián’s case through the foundation she supports, “Friends of the Police,” an organization that helps police officers and their families, especially those injured in combat.
With full awareness that prominent ears can be a source of ridicule and bullying in children, and after learning that Johan’s father, a police officer, always wanted to prevent his son from suffering the same trauma he experienced as a young man, Dr. Triana generously gifted the child the ear surgery.
The procedure was carried out last year, and with the support of the international television channel National Geographic Channel – Nat Geo – through the program Taboo, this touching case will be broadcast this coming Sunday, April 7, at 9 PM.
For the Dr. Lina Triana Organization, social responsibility is very important. This is why, throughout its growth, it has participated in multiple activities that demonstrate the humanitarian commitment that characterizes Dr. Lina Triana.
The Dr. Lina Triana Organization hopes to continue its great responsibility to the community of Cali, with a view toward community promotion with an international vision.
Ear Surgery
Ear correction surgery, also known as otoplasty, is one of the few aesthetic plastic surgeries recommended as early as age three. It is believed that with today’s alternatives, performing this procedure at an early age prevents the child from growing up with a complex about having large ears.
Any healthy person, whether a child or an adult, with prominent or large ears, is a good candidate for otoplasty or ear correction surgery.
