Eyelid Surgery(Blepharoplasty) | Dr. Lina Triana
Restore vitality to your eyes with blepharoplasty: eyelid surgery rejuvenates your gaze and signs of tiredness.
Even with plenty of rest, our eyes can sometimes still look tired. Over time, bags may form under the eyes and excess skin can appear on the eyelids, leaving us looking fatigued and older than we feel.
The Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. This procedure revitalizes the eye area by removing sagging skin from the upper eyelids, tightening the lower eyelids, and reducing under-eye bags, helping your eyes look brighter and more refreshed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Are you a candidate for eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)?
The appearance of your eyes is what matters most. At any age, patients may develop fat bags around the eyelids. This condition can occur in both young and older adults, and surgery is a viable option in either case. To undergo this procedure, you must be in good health. I recommend this surgery for patients who experience vision difficulties due to excess skin on the eyelids.
How is eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) performed?
This surgery is performed in an operating room with a full medical team including an anesthesiologist, a circulating nurse, a surgical technician, and a plastic surgeon—ensuring maximum safety and comfort. The procedure can be done under local anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthesia. You will have a consultation with the anesthesiologist beforehand to determine the best anesthesia option for you. The incision on the upper eyelids is hidden in the natural crease that forms when you open and close your eyes. For lower eyelid surgery, the incision may be placed inside the eyelid (called transconjunctival blepharoplasty) or just beneath the lash line.
What is the recovery like after eyelid surgery?
This is an outpatient procedure, so you’ll go home the same day to rest. I recommend applying cold compresses to your eyelids during the first few days to reduce swelling. Post-operative follow-up is essential. Avoid wearing contact lenses during the first few days. Refrain from any type of exercise for the first three to four weeks, and wear sunglasses outside to protect your eyes. Stitches are typically removed between 3 and 8 days after surgery. It’s normal to experience some bruising and swelling in the treated area. These symptoms can be eased with a detox program or IV therapy, which may help speed up recovery.
Recommendations
Es normal la aparición de morados e hinchazón en la zona operada; esto se puede contrarrestar con el programa de desintoxicación o sueroterapia, haciendo que la recuperación sea más rápida.
